How we approach it
Understand first. We map how the business actually operates before we touch any code, because the software usually encodes years of decisions nobody wrote down. Then we modernise in stages, keep old and new running in parallel, and only switch over when the numbers match. Nothing gets decommissioned until nothing depends on it.
